Over 130 years of product development and innovation.

1920
The Beginning

The history of the Concentric AB Group began in 1920, with a three-man partnership who founded Concentric Manufacturing Company Limited, on January 4, 1922, in Aston, UK.

1923

A first profit of £70 was recorded and from that point the company never looked back.

It was during this period that patents were taken out on a revolutionary petrol tap for motor cycle engines and, in the next few years, this and other enterprises brought increasing rewards.

1946
Concentric goes public

In 1946 the decision was made to launch Concentric as a public company and this was followed by the purchase of the factory and assets of Elfson Limited in 1948 – Concentric’s first major acquisition.

1979
Global Expansion
Tyburn Road

A US sales office was set up circa 1979 and secured multiple oil pump contracts in North America.

The sales office became a distribution centre in 1983 until 1985 when it moved into Itasca and in 1986 started manufacture of Fan Bracket Assemblies and Moulded Plastics parts.

In 1986 Concentric won its first Fuel transfer pump business, expanding into new markets

2008

Concentric merged with Haldex to achieve an even stronger global presence.

2011

Haldex and Concentric separated, and as part of this demerger, Concentric took a 50% stake in the Alfdex joint venture business which develops technologies for crankcase gas ventilation . The joint venture is a 50:50 shared ownership with Swedish company Alfa Laval AB.

2013
Licos Truck Acquisition

Licos truck was formed on 18 December 1998.

Concentric and Licos started working together in 2012 and by June 2013 Concentric had acquired Licos. The Licos business was kept as a standalone business operating from Markdorf, Germany.

Licos Trucktec GmbH had developed semi-variable clutch, which could sit directly on top of a water or oil pump and vary the speed of the pump thereby reducing the energy and saving fuel. The Licos product was patented and is used by a number of key global commercial vehicle OEMs.

2015
GKN Sinter Metals de Argentina Acquisition

Concentric acquired GKN Sinter Metals de Argentina SA, a supplier of engine pumps in Chivilcoy, Argentina, strengthening Concentric’s presence in the South American region.

2020
Allied Enterprises Acquisition

In December 2020, Concentric acquired Allied Enterprises, LLC. (“Allied Enterprises”), a US manufacturer of transmission products for the construction, agricultural, material handling and stationary power markets. Allied Enterprises has a production facility in Muncie, Indiana, USA and has been manufacturing transmission products for over 30 years. Allied Enterprises has long established trading relationships with a number of leading OEMs and remanufacturing suppliers around the world. The acquisition delivered Concentric a strengthened transmission pump capability which complemented its existing product offering.

2021
EMP Acquisition

Engineered Machined Products, Inc. (”EMP”) was formed in 1981, in Escanaba, MI, USA.

Concentric acquired EMP, a leading US producer of electric and mechanical water and oil pumps, electric fans, thermal management systems and precision machined components in October 2021. The acquisition was a transformational event as it strengthened Concentric’s capabilities in electrical products including high voltage components, electrical fans, e-oil and e-water pumps.

The combined Concentric and EMP businesses have the products to supply all of the fluid pumping needs, along with the radiators/heat exchangers with electric cooling fans. This gives the capability to supply complete thermal modules for on-highway and off-highway battery or fuel cell vehicles and machines.

2024
GO Engineering Acquisition

Founded in 1990 and based in Bühl, Germany, GO Engineering brings extensive experience and expertise in electronics design and manufacturing across various industries, including commercial vehicles and industrial applications. This acquisition strengthens Concentric’s electronic engineering capabilities, particularly in software and hardware development. Additionally, it integrates printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) manufacturing into the Concentric Group, a crucial element in the electronics value chain.

Concentric’s performance increases by boosting our electric sales and achieving medium-term cost efficiencies through in-house controller design and manufacturing. G.O Engineering as part of the Concentric group enhances our ability to respond to customer needs and leverage a consistent electronic platform across our brands and global operations.
